Reduced (3-3.5% ABV) and low alcohol (0.5 – 3.0% ABV) beers form an important part of the Australian beer landscape where flavour, refreshment and balance of alcohol are all important. These styles of beer often reflect a reduced alcohol version of a full strength beer, but within Indie beer are also often a dedicated recipe in their own right. Intended to provide a full flavoured drinking experience in a lower alcohol format.
Traditionally the domain of mid-strength lagers this category now encompasses many other styles of beer including pale ales, XPAs and sour beers.
